Family History

Are you looking for information about family members who were connected with Charlestown?

Current registers are kept at the Church. Completed registers are held by Kresen Kernow (Cornwall County Archives) in Redruth. You can contact them at [email protected] or 01209-614430

Volunteers from the Cornwall Family History Society have transcribed many of the register entries and headstone inscriptions, which can be found at Cornish Parish Records - search the Cornwall genealogy database (cornwall-opc-database.org). The Cornwall Family History Society can be contacted at Cornwall Family History Society (cornwallfhs.com) or 01872-264044.

The graveyard has been closed for burials for approximately 100 years, apart from the interment of ashes in the Garden of Remembrance. Campdowns Cemetery nearby is managed by Cornwall Council, who hold the records. They can be contacted at www.cornwall.gov.uk or 01872-327823. The Cemetery also has 12 Commonwealth War Graves from the First and Second World Wars.
