God Speed the Plough! Plough Sunday was marked by a lovely service at Tremaine Church led by the curate, Rev. Nicki Farr and assisted by Local Worship Leader, Tim Hopper. As part of the service, farm implements and garden tools were blessed; Champion ploughman, Anthony Retallack, and his grandson Alfie Hollington, had brought their tractors and ploughs. Thirteen-year old Alfie is following his grandfather's example and enjoying competitive ploughing.
Palm Sunday was marked at Tremaine with a visit from two donkeys! Florence and Bella, the donkeys, with their attendants Gaby and Tom Greene, led the congregation down the hill where James and Bella Hopper read the two readings. Following some prayers everyone progressed back to St Winwaloe Church for the rest of the service led by Assistant Curate, Rev. Nicki Farr, which included a reading of a Passion Play with parts taken by people in the congregation. Miss Verna Jones played the keyboard for the hymns.
