Outside of regular worship, the church is usually open for visiting and private prayer from 11am until 2:30pm on Monday to Friday inclusive.

The Civic and Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin is situated in the heart of Nottingham's historic Lace Market, a short walk from the Market Square.
