The pre-Norman tower has a fine ring of six bells. Teams wishing to practice at St Peter's should contact the churchwarden Miss S Rohde. Anyone wishing to learn the art should contact Steve Beckett on 01508 471198.
Urgent work has been completed on the tower thanks to financial support from various bodies e.g. EH/HLF, NHCT, Garfield Weston, NCT, and the Round Tower Churches Society. A superb local initiative (The Forncett Festival 2007) raised over £5,000. Final costs exceeded £60,000.
The organ was built by Holdich has been overhauled and renovated. A separate appeal (£500) covered half the costs and matched a bursary from the Holdich Family History Society.
The church has connections with Wordsworth; his sister, Dorothy, lived here with her uncle, the rector, William Cookson.
