Thought for this week
In our Gospel reading Jesus is moving from place to place, speaking of the Kingdom and the Good News, healing people and drawing disciples to Him.
This is the love of our heavenly Father who sent Jesus into our broken and hurting world, the bringer of Good News, of healing, forgiveness and peace.
As Jesus gathers His disciples, He hands the mission and ministry to us. To proclaim Jesus as Saviour and Lord, to be His workers amongst the harvest, to bring His healing and hope to those who are ‘like sheep without a shepherd’.
This week is Norwich refugee Week. Our city has a long history of welcoming the stranger, of reaching out to those who have become displaced, having to start again. Those who have been forced to make difficult journeys, and whose lives have become ones of uncertainty, challenges and fear.
For each of us we share in Jesus’ mission to bring the Good News to those who are hurting, even our neighbours and friends, even those who are on our own doorstep, or who we meet on our own streets. Those from whatever background. We all need the love of Jesus, our Good Shepherd. Paul
