Welcome to The Prayer Hub for this week beginning Sunday 10 January 2021.

We are now in the season of Epiphany and our readings from scripture are about the continuing revelation of who Jesus is, through the things he said and the things he did. People were drawn to Jesus. There was something about him that was new, different, intriguing. From the time of his birth people saw that Jesus was no ordinary human being. As we pray this week let’s pray that our eyes may be ever open to the wonder of who Jesus is and that we too may experience continued epiphanies as we journey in faith this year, that our faith and trust in our loving God may deepen and that we may reflect the love of God in our lives.

Sunday: As we worship today, gathered though physically apart, may the loving presence of the Holy Spirit give us an awareness of God’s grace and peace holding us together.

Monday: In a world that seems so far removed from the loving purposes of God we pray for an epiphany - that we may see more fully God’s presence in the world and live in the light of that love.

Tuesday: We hold before God the United States of America.

Wednesday: We pray for the NHS and all key workers.

Thursday: Hold before God the things that are particularly on your mind today.

Friday: Spend some time today speaking to God as you would to a friend and rest in God’s love for you.

Saturday: Pray for our worship tomorrow.

Heavenly Father,

At the Jordan you revealed Jesus as your Son:

May we recognise him as our Lord

And know ourselves to be your beloved children;

Through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

We invite you join with us everyday at midday to pause for a few moments and to pray the prayer that Jesus taught us.

Our Father

Who art in heaven

Hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us each day our daily bread.

Forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Lead us not into temptation

And deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory

For ever and ever. Amen.
