Christmas Shoebox appeal

Here at St Ed's will be collecting Christmas Shoeboxes as part of the Blythswood care appeal 2021.

Our 'Shoebox service' will be held on Sunday 31st October 2021.

Shoeboxes are sent to people of different ages in the poorest parts Eastern Europe and beyond for Christmas. The boxes are filled with a variety of items to bring warmth and cheer to people who have very little. The shoe boxes have a wonderful impact on the lives of their recipients. They help to assure these people that they are remembered, prayed for and loved by the Lord.

Our prayer for those receiving the shoeboxes is that they know God loves them, just as he loves each of us so deeply.

Filled shoeboxes and drawstring bags will both be gratefully received.

This year Blythswood hope to  be able to deliver boxes and bags to Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.

There are leaflets in church to explain the items needed and how to prepare a box. Alternatively you can find details on the Blythswood Care website. A video about the appeal can be found at the bottom of their webpage (keep scrolling down to find the videos!), a checklist of contents for the boxes/bags can be found here.

Complete shoeboxes or bags can be left in St Ed's anytime before the 'Shoebox service'.
