End of World War 2 Celebration Concert

The evening held to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the end of WWI with Carclaze Voices, was a great success. The church was filled with voices singing the familiar songs from the war years and the evening was much enjoyed by all. The Carclaze Singers led the singing and also sang a medley of songs of the same era and made the evening the success it was. In an interlude to give the choir a break, Fr Jake Loewendahl read two war poems and Olivia his wife played two haunting melodies on the cello which created an atmosphere of the horrors of war and was quite poignant. Everyone went into the hall afterwards for refreshments, of which there was plenty for everyone and with donations from the evening a total of £363 was sent to the Royal British Legion. We are very grateful to the Carclaze Voices for making the evening possible and entertaining us so well and Fr Jake and Olivia for the thoughtful interlude.
