COVID 19 UPDATE 6th January 2021 (National Lockdown)
As you will all be aware places of worship may remain open during the current lockdown. Over the past days our PCC's have been prayerfully considering our duty of care to all members of our congregations and wider communities irrespective of age especially in the midst of the new easily transmitted variant of COVID.
We need to play our part in ensuring the safety of all and have therefore decided to suspend public communal worship across the Benefice with immediate effect.
Our services from this Sunday will revert to an 11am service on zoom (details to follow in the usual way). Hampsthwaite will be open each Sunday from 2-3pm for private individual prayer.
The Diocese of Leeds are very supportive of our decision, we anticipate remaining closed until the lockdown is eased. Support is available should you have any concerns and we will do all we can to help in this difficult situation. Please do not hesitate to contact the churchwardens and we will do all we can to offer support (contact details can be found on the website)
We are delighted to say that we can re commence our worship in church from Sunday 6th December. Our schedule of services are: the first two Sundays of the month are Parish Communion at 09.30, the third Sunday is All Age Worship (AAW) at 11am and the remaining Sundays in the month are also at 11am (Parish Communion). There are currently no joint Benefice services due to limited numbers we can currently accommodate given 2m social distancing.
Sunday Club is also back! meeting in the hall at the beginning of services (apart from AAW) when the children join the full service.
A risk assessment has been undertaken and is updated regularly as new guidance is received. This is available to see on the internal notice board or by contacting a churchwarden and we'll be happy to email you a copy.
To ensure we all keep safe please be mindful of the following:
If you are in a vulnerable grouping the advice is still to remain home as much as possible, although we very much want to welcome you please do not feel any pressure to attend.
The wearing of a face covering is mandatory, strict social distancing will apply and communion will be offered in one kind only (precautions as described in the risk assessment). If you have any concerns please do ring a churchwarden and we'll be happy to help. (Chris on 01423 771991 and Louise 07733 221611)
To ensure we all keep safe please be mindful of the following:
Please DO NOT enter if you have a recent onset of
• a temperature
• a new cough, sore throat and nasal congestion
• diarrhoea
• suffering from flu-like symptoms
• or you have been identified as a significant contact by the UK Covid NHS Track& Trace system
The church door will remain open for ventilation.
Please use the hand sanitiser upon entry and keep socially distanced between yourself and others AT ALL TIMES.
The entrance for less mobile people is as usual through the Hall.
Wash your hands once home.
If you develop symptoms (as above) within one week of your visit, inform a churchwarden immediately.
That said we are a very welcoming church! A warm welcome awaits....

This PDF, which is an extract from the Church of England’s database of churches, can serve as a certificate for churches requiring proof of their charity status when registering for online and card-based giving.
