Sunday @ the School!

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St Joe's, Newton Leys
Address
San Andres Drive Newton Leys Bletchley Milton Keynes, MK3 5GG, United Kingdom

A St Joe's Sunday morning service, at Newton Leys Primary School, continuing our series on Prayer and considering another aspect of this important topic for Christians. There'll probably be around 50 or so people of all different ages and different backgrounds: some who have become really confident in the Jesus thing and others who are still trying to figure it out. Wherever they're at, they're incredibly lovely people who have a habit of making others feel OK to be themselves, even when they're new.
There'll be coffee and some kind of cake or biscuits. That's always a must for us.
There'll be some singing. Not everyone joins in, some just watch; but it's surprising how it seems to make a difference to people.
There'll be a talky bit, where someone stands at the front and shares some thoughts and ideas from the Bible. No one is forced to agree and there's often some opportunities to chat it through with others and see if it makes sense or not.
And...we believe there'll be an opportunity to connect with the God we humbly believe made EVERYTHING. So that's not so bad, when you think about it.
10.30am at Newton Leys School this Sunday for about an hour.

St Joe's, Newton Leys

Hello, and welcome to St Joe's!  So, who are we…?

Informally: we are a “Church for those who don't ‘do church’. An extended family of sorts - in & out of each others homes.”

Formally: St Joseph’s (Church of England) church was formed in April 2017 to serve the new-build housing area known as Newton Leys, to the south of Bletchley and Milton Keynes. The church was started with the help and support of St Mary’s Parish Church in Bletchley. St Joe’s is officially recognised by the Anglican Oxford Diocese but continues, at the moment, to ‘come under’ the organisational and charitable status of St Mary’s Church.

How would we describe ourselves? A local, community church? Yes!  A new expression of church? Yes! A church for those who don't usually do church, or who have become a bit disillusioned with church? Yes!

We focus on a ‘missional model’, to informally but strategically share Jesus, life and community with each other - and anyone who wants to take this faith-journey with us. We meet two or three times during the month at the local primary school for Sunday morning services, and on other Sundays, and at other times, we organise a range of activities and events that fulfil and enhance our mission and calling.
