Rev Jonathan invites you to join him for Morning Prayer. This is a simple act of worship to start the day, lasting no more than 20 minutes.

There is no service at St Philip's Church this Sunday as we along with the church family from St. Peter's Church, Thorner are joining with the congregation at All Saints’ Church, Barwick-in-Elmet for a Benefice service at 10am.

Welcome to our community cafe! We serve teas, great coffees, irresistible cakes, toasted teacakes & bacon rolls! 

Run by volunteers, we aim to provide a safe, warm and welcoming space for the local and wider community. It's a great place for you to meet with friends and family. Babies and children are very welcome and we have toys, books, and a nappy changing area.

On the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month, a quieter reflective service of Holy Communion is celebrated in the Church at 2pm. All are welcome.

We are local people who want to meet others; do something together; avoid loneliness and have a bit of company and fun once a week. We provide a safe, warm, and friendly space for people of all ages and abilities, and disabilities. Tea and biscuits are always available. Activities include - watercolour painting; crafting; family history; gentle exercise; games and jigsaw puzzles and even the chance to play in a Brass Band! We are open on Monday afternoons except for Bank Holidays.

We don't have a meeting in August but this year we have been asked to light a candle and read some prayers at 3pm on
9th August. This is to commemorate Mary Sumner Day and remember the 150 years since The Mother's Union was founded by her.

Mothers' Union is a global Christian movement working with people of all faiths and none to develop communities, strengthen families and advocate for change. Our members are active in 83 countries and work tirelessly to serve their communities to build a future where everyone thrives. Ending violence, ending poverty, ending injustice. We are a truly worldwide Christian movement. And a local one!

Our Scholes and Barwick Group usually meets at 7:30pm on the first Monday of the month (excluding Bank Holidays - please check the calendar for alternative dates) in St. Philip’s Church, Scholes.

The Remembrance Sunday service will start at 9.30am. This will be followed at 10am by the Act of Remembrance at the Scholes War Memorial.

St Philips Community Café will be open on Friday as usual from 9 till 12 with a special Christmas fayre opening on Saturday 28th November, 10 till 12. Start your festive season preparations with coffee, cakes, and carols, and a chance to buy some unique Christmas gifts.
