About Us

At first Glance, St James' Church looks to be a very old building, but it was in fact built in the mid 1850s. The simple design blends well with it's surroundings and inside, the Church exhibits the same simple but attractive design. The most famous feature of the church is the engraved glass 'Whistler Window', dedicated to the Poet Edward Thomas.

St James no longer has it's own dedicated priest but now shares its vicar - The Revd. Julie Mintern - with St Michael and all Angels in Lambourn, and All Saint's Church in East Garston. The three churches comprise The Lambourn Valley Benefice.
