By the Tenth Sunday after Trinity, the Church has been travelling through Ordinary Time long enough to discover that ordinary life is rarely very ordinary. Just when the water appears calm and the route seems straightforward, a storm arrives—usually without first consulting the diary.

This Sunday, Revd. Richard will lead us into Matthew 14:22–33, where the disciples find themselves battling wind and waves, and Jesus comes to them across the water. It is a story filled with fear and faith, courage and confusion—and with the reassuring discovery that Christ is not absent simply because the weather has turned against us.

Come and join us this Sunday—and do bring a friend or family member. They need not have everything calm, tidy or worked out. Indeed, that would make them rather unusual company for the disciples.
