Sunday 19th July 2026
This Sunday is the Seventh Sunday after Trinity, and we are blessed to welcome a dear friend, Revd Richard Bainbridge from St John’s & St Stephen’s, who will kindly be taking our service.
The Gospel gives us Jesus’ story of a field where good seed has been sown. It is a very summery sort of parable: things growing, life appearing, and the awkward discovery that not everything coming up is what we planted — including the weeds.
Isaiah reminds us that, amid all the muddle, God is still God: “I am the first and I am the last.” That is good news when life feels untidy and our faith feels more like a patch of weeds than a prize-winning border.
So do come along this Sunday, and bring a friend, neighbour, or family member. Church is a good place for imperfect people to discover the patience and grace of Christ.
Every blessing.
Revd. Mark
