On Saturday, 20th September, the church was visited by a group with connections with the church. It was while our Open Saturday was on. This is a transcript that Debbie wrote and is happy for us to share We travelled up from Wiltshire today to visit family. The church has been a big part of our family The family name is “Ost” My graddad William Plant Ost The family donated the statue of The Virgin Mary and the baby Jesus when my graddad died. My mum, Patricia Ost Married in St Matthew’s on 28th March 1964. I was christened in the church “Deborah Louise Evens on the 28th August 1966. My Nan was buried here in 1958. Debbie goes on to write “Today has been a very special day for all of us, we have visited before, but the church was closed, Today was meant to be for all of us.” Thank you all so very much, The Ost, Sheppard, Stopps and Hughes Families.
