About Us

We are a small, friendly, village congregation in a rural location.
Parts of our church date back to Saxon times and the building contains many fascinating memorials and beautiful wall paintings.
We hold a Coffee Morning inside the Church from 10 a.m. on the 1st Tuesday of each month. All are welcome, whatever your age. There is no charge - just come along for a cuppa and a chat.

There is a Post Office in the church every Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

There is also a small library with quite an eclectic collection of books. Anyone is welcome to borrow from it and we trust you to bring the books back when you've read them.

The parish of Hanbury: St Werburgh is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Lichfield’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
