About Us

SS Mary and Chad is a Church of England parish within the anglo-catholic tradition; this means that its worship is centred around the Mass during which the worshipping congregation can meet Jesus in word and sacrament. Our worship is traditional and you can expect the use of incense and the priest to be wearing vestments.

The parish receives the extended episcopal oversight of the Bishop of Oswestry who offers such through the structures of the Society of S Wilfred and S Hilda. Firmly engaged with the life of the Diocese of Lichfield and sharing its missional aspirations, we hope to afford everyone an opportunity to grow in discipleship as we follow Christ in the footsteps of S Chad.

Do come and join us - a warm welcome awaits you!

Temporary Arrangement

Due to the retirement of the former parish priest, Fr Kevin Palmer, the parish is currently in vacancy; however, parish life continues with the help of local clergy and the enthusiastic church wardens and congregation. More often than not, Mass on Sundays is being said by the Associate Archdeacon of Stoke-upon-Trent, Fr Terry Bloor.
