A Special Invitation to Welcome Revd Pippa White

It is our great delight to invite you to join us for the Collation and Induction of the Reverend Pippa White as Rector of the Benefice of Newport with Longford, and Chetwynd.

The service will be held at St Michael and All Angels, Chetwynd on Saturday 17th October 2026 at 2.00pm.

This is a special occasion as we welcome Pippa as our new Rector and begin a new chapter in the life of our churches. We would love as many of our congregation, friends and members of the wider community as possible to join us.

The Collation of Pippa by the Bishop of Shrewsbury will be followed by her Induction by the Archdeacon of Salop, and then conclude with Eucharist led by the Bishop of Shrewsbury.

Everyone is very welcome — this is not an invitation-only occasion.

We are expecting a large attendance and have arranged overflow accommodation for the service. There will also be ample off- street parking close to the church, with people available to help direct you.

Please stay and celebrate with us.

Following the service, please join us for a drinks reception in a marquee in the gardens of Chetwynd Manor, immediately next door to the church. It will be a lovely opportunity to celebrate together and give Pippa a personal welcome.

We very much hope you will be able to join us.

Heavenly Father,

As the colours of autumn surround us and the fields yield their harvest, we give you thanks for the abundance of your creation and for all the blessings we receive from your generous hand. Help us never to take these gifts for granted, but to use them wisely, share them gladly, and remember those who are struggling or in need.

We thank you for the life and witness of St Michael and All Angels, Chetwynd, and for the faithfulness of all who have sustained the church through recent months. As we celebrate Harvest, fill our hearts with gratitude and remind us that every good thing comes from you.

We pray especially for Revd Pippa White as she is welcomed and licensed as Rector of the Benefice of Newport with Longford and Chetwynd this month. Bless her with wisdom, strength, and joy as she begins her ministry among us. May she know your guidance in every decision, your peace in every challenge, and your encouragement in every opportunity to serve.

Grant that together we may grow in faith, hope, and love, welcoming one another as Christ welcomes us, and seeking to share his light within our communities.

Through the prayers of St Michael and all the angels, may we be strengthened to follow Christ faithfully, serve others generously, and trust always in your unfailing care.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
