A Tree-ky Problem! In the middle of May the large Lime tree that had reduction work done back in spring 2024, dropped a large branch in a short storm which landed on the road causing a temporary blockage. Since then, the Tree surgeons have had a look and are proposing to lower and remove the branches and leave a Monolith trunk, to prevent any further issues that may arise. We are discussing this as a PCC and liaising with the tree surgeons as to how and when this will be done and whether the lane will need to be closed for a short time and/or electric supply affected as last time hopefully not the case. This will Cost the Church over £1,000.00 and will deplete our financial situation further. We have made the Diocese financial team and the Archdeacon aware of the difficulties which make it hard to see how we will manage going forward. We were planning to have a work party to work on the fence in July but given the tree situation - that is on hold.
