Church of St Peter, Maer

Welcome to the Church of St Peter in Maer, Staffordshire.

Maer church is a traditional country church in a very attractive setting opposite Maer Hall. It is generally open during daylight hours but if you want to be sure of access then contact one of the Church Wardens - Wendy Kinson or Dorothy Bennison.

The church is associated with the parishes of Chapel/Hill Chorlton and Whitmore and there is a rotation of services between the churches. Every other Sunday at 9.30am we have a Holy Communion service with hymns and songs of an hour long, with a children's corner. Around 20 - 25 attending. On alternate Sundays there is a 9.30am Communion service at the sister church of Chapel Chorlton, a mile away.

The parish of Maer: St Peter is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Lichfield’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
