ST. ANSELM'S PARISH CHURCH, THE HOUSE OF GOD AND SPIRITUAL HOME IN HAYES.

SAINT ANSELM'S PARISH CHURCH is situated at the very heart and hub of the community in HAYES TOWN, where hundreds of people from all walks of life pass its doors daily. St. Anselm's belongs to the Anglo-Catholic traditions of the Church in the Willesden Episcopal Area of The Diocese of London, and offers Pastoral Care to its parishioners. We strive to reach out to OUR parish and community in Hayes. At the West and East ends of the church there are two large stained glass windows which adds a spiritual dimension to the interior. The organ loft (situated at front, right of the church) houses the resonant pipe organ which was installed here in 1932 and built by W. Haywood from North London. With 2 manuals, 19 stops and 850 pipes its life started in Tunbridge Wells. The ceiling displays signs of the zodiac, a Greek word meaning circle of animals. Usually associated with stars and divided into twelve, it appropriately adorns the church from above.
Our state-of-the-art lighting has 16 different scenes which highlights the ceiling and strategic points around the church, this provides an ambient atmosphere for different services and events, which we are always seeking to expand. Whatever the occasion we have a suitable lighting scene to offer. We are able to seat approximately 250 for services and events inside the church. All the church seating is flexible, which can be moved and positioned to suit different services and functions.
The church building is a place for prayer, praise and meditation, and is kept open as much as possible outside of the regular service times. If you just want to pray or light a candle, do feel free to come into the church. There are 4 stations where votive candles can be lit, The Sacred Heart, The Shrine of The Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Anselm's Shrine and The Sanctuary Steps. If for any reason you can't get to the church, arrangements can be made to bring THE BLESSED SACRAMENT to you.
We work closely and sympathetically with local Funeral Directors, and welcome enquiries for CONFESSION, the joyous occasion of BAPTISM, CONFIRMATION, READING THE BANNS OF MARRIAGE and THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY MATRIMONY. Occasionally we hold a Bric-a-Brac Sale in front of the church on SATURDAY after THE LOW PARISH MASS. This is run by a group of volunteers who give their time to raise funds for St. Anselm's Church. Why not come along and support this worthy cause, either by making some purchases or by giving a helping hand? We also rent tables at £7:00 a session, for individuals who have surplus articles they wish to sell. These can be pitched with us at this prime spot in front of the church on our sale day. The cost of maintaining YOUR church and its ministry here in Hayes Town is quite significant and we're constantly looking at ideas for raising much needed funds. Ideas for fundraising or donations will be gratefully received. A box for this is situated in the wall on the right side as you enter the church, alternatively speak to Fr. Geoffrey, an altar server or a Churchwarden.
