This booklet, of 44 pages, is the story behind the inscription on the Walker Memorial plaque, which is situated on the outside of the east wall of Saint Mary’s Church, Hayes, Middlesex. William Walker was a well-known amateur astronomer in the late 1700’s till the early 1800’s, he built an observatory in Hayes, one of his telescopes is in the Science Museum, London.

The information in this booklet may help preserve the history of Walkers, their invention and presentation of the Eidouranion, the device that is named on the memorial, their connections with Hayes and the various people that they influenced during their lifetimes.

All proceeds from of the sales of this booklet will go to St. Mary’s Church.
