Christ in Majesty by John Hayward & Francis Stephens
Installed in 1954 to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. It is signed in the lower panel.
The glass in band of musicans in the upper lights is much earlier.

The top lights “heavenly band of angels” – “around the throne of God”
The 5 main panels show the Nativity, the Baptism by John, The Crucifixion; Suffer little children to come to me; and The Ascension
The lowest panels are S. Matthew, S. Mark, the Talbot arms, S. Luke and S. John. Each envangelist has a paraphrase of the opening verse of their Gospels.
The dedication of the window is shown at the base.
South Chancel First Window by Gibbs (1885)
The first panel shows the three ‘Marys’ with the Angel at the tomb.
The legend reads, “He is not here, he is risen” S. Luke 24, v 6
The second panel is know as “Noli me tangere” from the words “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not.” S. John 20 v.17
Jesus is speaking to Mary Magdalene after the Resurrection.

Faith, Hope and Charity. The legends in the widows are from 1 Cor,13 v12 and v 13. It reads, “For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: but then shall I know even as I am known. And now abideth faith, hope and charity but the greatest of these is Charity.
Memorial window to Henry Neild (1882)
The left panel shows Jesus giving the Crown of Life and the legend is taken from Revelations 2 v. 10 and reads, “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life.” Notice the painted face with central hair parting and moustache - suggesting a portrait of the deceased son.
The right panel shows Mary and Martha asking Jesus to save Lazarus. The legend reads, “I am the Resurrection and the Life” (S. John 11 v. 25)
Memorial window to Edward Shackle by Gibbs (1885)
These panels are collectively known as the Bethany Window
Left panel Mary at Bethany at the feet of Jesus (S. Luke 10 v. 42) and the legend reads, “Mary hath chosen the good part.”
Middle panel the Raising of Lazarus (S. John 11 v 43) and the legend reads, “Lazarus, come forth”
Right panel Mary anoints the feet of Jesus (S. Matthew 26 v. 10) and the legend reads, “She hath wrought a good work.” Notice Judas and Peter seated at the table watching! (This could have been sold for a great sum.)

Left panel Jesus the Good Shepherd (S. John 10 v. 11) and the legend reads, “I am the good Shepherd”.
Right panel the Charge to Peter (S. John 21 v. 16 & 17) and the legend reads, “Feed my sheep”.
Notice the keys hanging from Peter's belt.
Memorial to Louisa Reid (1897) by Heaton, Butler & Bayne
The top legend reads, “She reached out her hand to the poor.” (Proverbs 31 v.20)
Lower legend reads, ”She looketh well to the ways of her household and catcheth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praiseth her.” (Proverbs 31 v. 27 & 28)
Dedication: In memory of Louisa the dearly loved wife of Robert Reid of Barra Hall in this parish born 25th May 1821 died Nov 30th 1893. The Reid family were great benefactors to the parish.
Memorial window (1936) by F C Eden
The S. Nicholas window reads,” He has dispersed abroad and to the poor.” (2 Corinthians 9 v.9) It is dedicated In grateful memory of Elizabeth Ann Shackle for 50 years a worshipper here and friend of the poor a generous benefactress of this church died 7th day of Feb 1936 RIP
The S. Anselm window reads, “The spirit of Wisdom came to me.” (Wisdom 7 v. 7) Dedicated “Erected by parishioners and friends in grateful memory of the ministry of Ernest Roberts Hudson Rector of this parish: died 7th day July 1935 RIP
Memorial window (1889) to Alfred Bowles by Clayton & Bell above the Vestry.
The Saint James the Great window reads, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil for thou art with me” (Psalm 23)
The Saint John window reads, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” (S. Matthew 5 v. 5)
