Church of England Diocese of Chichester St. Mary Kemp Town

St Mary's, Kemp Town

Welcome to St Mary's, Kemp Town. We are an inclusive and welcoming church situated in a vibrant and diverse part of Brighton. We are part of the Church of England and the worldwide Anglican Communion. We come under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Chichester.

We welcome all who enter our doors - and also those who simply look in out of curiosity. We strive to be representative of the community in which we are situated - whether elderly or young, partnered or single, straight or gay.

We take the Bible's teachings seriously and seek to understand them in the light of our own lived experience. You may have a strong Christian faith or you may struggle with belief. Either way, rather than providing answers, we see ourselves as a friendly sounding board, enabling both ourselves and others to live in the light of the Gospel with the questions that life brings.

Friends of St Mary's Christmas Fair

2 Nov 2019, 11 a.m. for 5h

61 St James's St

The Friends of St Mary's are holding a fundraising Christmas fair at the church on Saturday, 2nd November. The Friends' traditional Christmas cards will be on sale, along with the 2020 St Mary's calendar, plus home baking, crafts, bric-a-brac and second-hand, recycled and upcycled bits and bobs.

But there's no need to buy anything. If you'd just like to drop in for a cuppa and a look around the church, you're very welcome. There will be a raffle, refreshments, toddlers' play area and some rather fine live music - all within the lovely warm space of our beautiful church. Plus we're dog-friendly and wheelchair accessible.

We have some stall spaces available (£15 each) for local makers and producers. If you would like to run a stall at the fair, please email us with details of what you'd like to sell on: [email protected]
