This is a thriving and friendly parish with services attended by all age groups and a high quality of music. There is a mixture of traditional and modern liturgies to encourage and inspire every taste. Services are held every Sunday at 8am and 10am (and Evensong at 6pm on the first Sunday of the month).
St. Bartholomew's is a stone and clay-tile church in the typical local style, originating in the 11th century, extensively enlarged in Victorian times but retaining much of the earlier periods. Rudyard Kipling lived at nearby Batemans (NT). The door is open every day but is locked at dusk. A guide book is available inside the west entrance.
Level wheelchair access is available before services and by appointment at other times; or the west entrance is negotiable with help. Toilets and a large public car park are in the village centre, about 300m west of the church. The nearest railway station is Etchingham, 2 miles east along the main A265.
Our church is on the village website at http://www.burwash.org/local-info/churches.html and on our own website at http://www.saintbartholomewsburwash.org.uk
