St Margaret’s Church in Ifield has stood at the heart of this historic community since the C13th and, throughout the many passing years and decades, it has evolved into the building we all know and love. It is a place of worship, community and welcome and it is almost impossible to imagine our village without its reassuring and distinctive presence. 

Like many other ancient buildings, however, the challenge of maintaining it in a safe and secure condition is becoming ever more expensive and raising funds for this vital work is a perpetual and on-going challenge.

 That is why we are setting up a new St Margaret’s Parish 200 Club monthly lottery. For just £10.00 per month, your contribution can help fund the necessary repairs and improvements the building will require moving forward. 

The scheme is formally registered with Crawley Borough Council, the licensing authority, and the Diocese at Chichester. The twelve draws will be held on the first Sunday of every month at the end of the 11.00 am service, witnessed by the congregation. 50% of the money raised will be distributed as prizes amongst three lucky winners. Results will then be notified by e-mail and prizes will be distributed via online banking or by posting cheques to the winners. Once the prizes have been paid, all remaining funds will be used to off-set the costs associated with the maintenance and preservation of our Grade One listed church. 

You do not have to be a regular church goer or religious in any way to take part. It is a community scheme which seeks to ensure that St Margaret’s can continue to serve the Ifield community for years to come. 

Many of the formative events in our lives intrinsically rely upon the church simply being there.
