Our mid-week service of Holy Communion takes place at 11.00am on Tuesdays. This is a said service with a gentle and peaceful atmosphere, in the beautiful space of St Mary's church. A brief homily is preached.

Tuesday evening is practice night! Newcomers are welcome, even if only to see what it's all about. You need not attend St Mary's as a worshipper and the group welcomes all, whether of any faith or of none.
Come along to meet the band at St Mary's main door, just before 7.30pm (although there is no ringing in Holy Week).

Bell's are rung before the 10am Sunday service, on special personal occasions (such as weddings & baptisms) and, of course, on national moments such as Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee & King Charles' recent Coronation. The band at St Mary's is a lovely group; a mix of men & women, and is not limited to those that worship at St Mary's. Access to the Ringing Room is via a stone, spiral-staircase in the church tower.

Meditation with Morning Prayer Fridays 8am-8:40am. A time of quietness to begin the day, including the ancient spiritual practice of lectio divina, where we listen to scripture with the ‘ear of the heart’.

Discover a world of forgotten gems and explore the wonderful and unusual. From the world premiere of John Alexander’s Viola Sonata to the sublime reel-infused Elegy by Scottish composer James Friskin; from Dorothy Fox’s hauntingly beautiful Chant Elegiaque to the blink-and-you-miss-it fast and furious Danse Rustique of WH Squire; this programme promises to enlighten and entertain. A quiet said service of Holy Communion lasting about 40 mins. A peaceful and reflective way to start Sunday.

Our main gathering of the week is our Parish Eucharist, with full choir and organ music, lasting about an hour.

Children are especially welcome at the 10am service. Our 'Shine' Sunday School takes place every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, beginning at 10am in the Parish Hall for fun, stories and crafts before returning to church for Holy Communion.

On the 3rd Sunday of the month our Parish Eucharist has a simpler and shorter 'all-age' structure, seeking to be especially inclusive of children and young families.

A short and simple act of worship with story and song, particularly aimed at primary and pre-school aged children and their adults. Followed by a sandwich tea and refreshments.

Contemplative prayer has been part of the Christian tradition since earliest times. In the medieval period it became mostly associated with monasticism, but in the 20th century it was reclaimed as a normal part of many people’s spiritual journey. The Julian Meetings is a network of groups to foster contemplative prayer in the Christian tradition. In contemplation we just ‘are’ before God with the four ‘S’s: Stillness, Silence, Simplicity, Surrender.

Early-years faith explored through arts, crafts & family fellowship. SHINE meet during the 10am service, in the adjacent church hall. It's a convenient location with good bus & rail links, with nearby car parking available too.

If you are baptised and believe in the importance of family life, you are most welcome to join. Men and women, married and unmarried, parent or not – all can, and do, join Mothers’ Union. Around the UK, Mothers’ Union members are running parenting courses, mother and toddler groups, and drop-in centres. The Mothers’ Union work in refuges, contact centres, hospitals, and prisons.

Our monthly service of Choral Evensong, with full choir and organ and congregational hymns. A short sermon is preached.

3rd Sunday of the month at 6.00pm in St Mary's Church.

A meditative service of Evening Prayer with music from Taizé community.

6.00pm on the 4th Sunday of the month in the St George's Chapel.

The Japanese pianist Yoko Ono brings you music of an oriental influence with ‘Four Season Haikus’ by Chris Gander,Childrens Corner and ‘Estamps’ by Debussy. She will also be performing with a modern twist on Baroque dances with ‘Period Pieces’ by John Hawkins.

Shoreham-by-Sea’s irrepressible shanty crew, sing unaccompanied, and interpret the traditional songs from the age of sail. Their lively performances reflect a time when songs helped with the arduous work of hauling ropes, pumping bilges, and pushing capstans. Each shanty has a story: of loves lost and won, heroes and villains, life afloat and, inevitably, a sailor’s desire for a good drink once safely back on shore.
