Church of England Diocese of Chichester Chanctonbury

Washington Church

Please Note:

We have restarted services, honouring the governmental and Diocesan guidelines, yet in the words of Psalm 122:1...“I was glad when they said unto me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord’…”

There will be two identical 60 minute services at Washington Church at 9am and 11am weekly from Sunday 6 September.  You will need to book a (free!) ticket to attend and can do this by visiting our website at and scrolling down to 'book in to attend a COVID-secure service at Washington'

As we are unable to join in with singing, the musicians will lead two short times of worship, one towards the beginning of the service and one towards the end. Words will be printed out on a sheet to enable us to silently participate. Alongside this, we will have a time of led prayer, a reading, a short sermon, a time to respond, and a closing prayer or blessing.

Church online will continue alongside the services at Washington, with the Sunday stream uploaded to the Chanctonbury youtube channel from 7am on Sunday mornings. You an access this by visiting our website at or our YouTube channel using this link

We are a growing family of Christians living to see the presence of God transform our land and the communities around us.

We have congregations in three parishes: Ashington, Washington and Wiston, each different in style, but united in heart and mind.

Our heart is for each and every person to experience the reality of Jesus Christ in their lives, knowing the joy, hope and freedom He brings.

Our church is managed by the Church Wardens and Parochial Church Council in partnership with the Rector, James di Castiglione. We run various courses and events throughout the year for young and old. Please see our Website for more

You are so welcome to join us!
