Music and Worship

St Michael’s has six bells, which are rung from the ground floor. The heaviest bell weighs 10 cwt. Practice nights are normally on Mondays between 6.30pm and 7.30pm and the bellringers are always happy to welcome visitors, whether they are existing ringers or have never touched a bell rope in their lives. Anyone over the age of eleven, who wishes to learn, will be given full training and there is no need to worry because no-one is left alone until they can safely handle a bell by themselves. If you fancy a new challenge, why not drop in and have a go. The bellringers would be happy to meet you.

We are pleased to host an annual Christmas Concert given by Thurmaston Scout and Guide Band (Thurmaston Marching Brass).

We enjoy worship accompanied by the organ at many of our services.

The choir at St Michael’s lead the singing at our Sunday morning services (except the All Age / Family Service).

We are keen to recruit people of all ages to join the choir. If you are interested in joining, please ask at church.

From time-to-time we hold informal praise / worship services, led by a worship leader with guitar.
