We are delighted that Bishop Saju Muthalaly, the Bishop of Loughborough, will be confirming candidates at St Michael & All Angels, Thurmaston on Sunday 19th October 2025, in a service of Holy Communion and Confirmation at 11am.

Anybody who might be interested in confirmation – which is usually for young people aged 12+ and adults, and for which there is no charge – is asked initially to speak with the Churchwardens. Arrangements will then be made to put prospective candidates in touch with the Rev Steve Ransley (Vicar at St Catharine’s Church, Houghton-on-the-Hill, and Oversight Minister at Living Hope Church Thurmaston), who has kindly offered to lead confirmation preparation.

All are welcome to join the annual Remembrance Sunday Parade Service. The Act of Remembrance is held at the War Memorial, in front of Thurmaston Memorial Hall on Melton Road, Thurmaston, and includes the reading of the names of the fallen, the laying of wreaths, Last Post, silence, and Reveille, concluding with the National Anthem. This event is organised by Thurmaston Parish Council; with support from Thurmaston Branch Royal British Legion; Thurmaston Scouts & Guides; St Michael's, Thurmaston; and many other village organisations. We will remember them.

The Children's Society desribe Christingle as "a joyful celebration that brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope".
