Church of England Diocese of Norwich Narborough with Narford

About Us

The village of Narford has almost disappeared through various clearances over the centuries. The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin stands a little way from the road and close to Narford Hall, the seat of the Fountaine family since the 17th century. Arrangements to view the church can be made with the Rector of the Nar Valley Group of Churches c/o The Rectory, Narborough. The church is plain inside but has an interesting double sedilla and Easter sepulchre. The church and churchyard are reached along the 'church way' to the west of Narford Hall park grounds.

Morning Prayer (BCP) is said each Saturday at 8am from the Saturday after Easter to the end of October

Our attention has now turned to the restoration of the porch at an estimated sum of £18,000.00.  Work begun on 1 June 2019. Once we have achieved this we will then need to consider how to fund the re-lime washing of the interior.

If you have had any previous connection with, or a love of, St Mary The Virgin Church then we invite you to help the congregation to retain this building for future years.

Donations may be sent to the Church Treasurer – Mrs Susan Nairn, The Rectory, Main Road, Narborough, PE32 1TE.

Cheques should be made payable to Narborough w Narford PCC and marked for Narford Church.
