Set in a quiet Barnes street adjoining the Thames, Barbara Pym's much loved Anglo-Catholic jewel has been undergoing a renaissance in recent years. Modern catholic in tradition, St. Michael and All Angels attracts three congregations on Sunday mornings:said Mass (BCP) at 8am; Parish Mass for those who want good music, rich liturgy and challenging sermons at 10 a.m.; and a Family Mass at 11.30 a.m. This red brick late Victorian basilica has recently undergone extensive renovation, with the constuction of a new community centre and choir vestry and external landscaping.
