Building Project Consultation

Building Project Feedback

Thank you to everyone who responded to the recent building project consultation. Attached is the summary of the tick-box consultation on what respondents thought were the needs of the church that a building project might address:

Here is a summary of the key points that were made:

The consultation showed a clear identified need for a toilet (with disabled access provision and baby-changing facilities)The consultation showed a clear identified need for servery facilities to serve tea, coffee and cake. The consultation showed that there is uncertainty about the need for meeting space and storage space. The maintenance of the building and monument was identified as important in the consultation, but how respondents interpreted this may vary.

· There is a high value put on the character of the building and the scheduled ancient monument.

· Concern was expressed about the cost of the currently proposed scheme and many questioned whether we needed such an ambitious project.

· A few respondents did express a desire for the current project to go ahead to maximise the possibilities of the building.

The PCC has started to analyse the feedback and in the next couple of months will be making a decision as to whether to proceed with the current proposal, or to explore an alternative. Please pray for the PCC members as we discern the way forward.
