HOPE @ EASTER

Easter Church_news Community_news

Just before Easter, 40 families in Sapcote, Sharnford and the communities of the two primary schools were given hampers through the churches of All Saints, Sapcote Methodists and St Helens. The hope was that these families would be blessed and helped at Easter by these gifts and give them a sense of God's love and care from their community.

There was a real sense that this happened as those delivering the hampers received many thanks for the gifts they bore. In conversations that took place with the deliveries the opportunity for prayer was shared too. Many people, when offered, asked for prayers and have received information about the [email protected] email address. This will enable them to send in prayer requests at any time, not just at Hope deliveries. Jill Matthews is co-ordinating this prayer follow-up.

Di Harrold, one of the co-ordinators, was very grateful to all who helped with this outreach. She was particularly grateful to The Hinckley Area Food bank, the Parish Councils and all the individuals who donated money to make Hope@Easter possible.

Also during this same week before Easter, 80 residents around Sapcote and Sharnford very happily received an Easter plant gift. There was also a card made by the school children to go with the plant. Many recipients were very pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfulness of all involved and thanked the churches & schools.

Di Harrold also expressed her thanks for all the prayers that surrounded this initiative and was also very grateful to the people delivering who had to battle through strong Holy Week winds!
