St Peter’s tidings The Annual Parochial Church Meetings - Weds 15th MarchThe meetings elected the following; To the Deanery Synod – Wendy O’Brien, Secretary of the PCC – Chris BallParish Treasurer – Eileen Fisher, PCC Auditor - Rebecca Morris, Churchwarden – Eric Fowler.Later this year Keith Cornford will retire from the role of Pastoral Assistant after many years of service. The PCC also expressed thanks to Phil Betteridge who works hard year-round to keep the churchyard mowed and tidy. The vacancy for a Rector of Fenn Lanes has not yet been filled so we continue to work with Reverend Patty Bailey to ensure that we have regular services at St Peter’s. We will be asking to meet with the Area Dean to discuss what more can be done. The condition of the roof of the tower remains a concern, we await the report from Heritage England on whether it will be added to the list of historic buildings at risk. We continue to look for grant funding to assist with committing to repairs – the current estimate is that it will cost over £130,000 ! -o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o From the Church Registers Carl Roger Rowley – funeral held on Friday 3rd March.
