Our vision is to be a centre of excellence for traditional church music and musical education within the Church of England Diocese of Leeds. We also seek to bring people to the Christian faith through worship and high quality music.Choral scholars at Bradford Cathedral have a high level of responsibility. The altos, tenors and basses are principally made up of volunteers and, as paid staff, the choral scholars are the lynch-pin of our back row. They have to be well-prepared, confident and encouraging of others. We expect our applicants to be hard-working and enthusiastic team-players, and to be immersed fully in the life of Bradford Cathedral. This role is suited to a talented gap-year student, a current university student or someone post-university who wants to gain more experience of singing in an English choral foundation. Graduates of our choral scholar scheme have gone on to study singing at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, choral conducting at the University of Cambridge, and to sing as a lay clerk at New College, Oxford. For full details please visit our website.
