'Our Bradford' is an exhibition created by Airedale Stitchers. Our starting point was thinking about what makes Bradford home for us. Our ideas were diverse, memories of growing up and working in the area to the love of the landscape and the historical industrial heritage. These are represented in a variety of textile techniques.
There will be an official launch on Thursday 15th May at 2pm. To sign up for the launch event see the link below.

Weaving Stories is an exciting art and heritage project led by Bradford Cathedral as part of our contribution to the UK City of Culture 2025, with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Through a loom installation in the Cathedral, we will invite local communities to co-create a breathtaking new tapestry, weaving together the rich, shared stories of Bradford's wool trade—a heritage deeply embedded in the city's diverse, global communities. The loom will be accompanied by a special 'sound tapestry': a recorded collection of voices and stories.
This project is about more than preserving history; it's about bringing people together. By taking part, you will help safeguard an at-risk heritage craft, learn new skills, and build lasting connections with one of Bradford's most significant cultural spaces.
The completed tapestry will then go on display in the Cathedral after a launch event on St. Blaise Day, Tuesday 3rd February 2026.
There will be an official launch on Saturday 10th May at 3pm.

A powerful celebration of choral grandeur, from Parry's resplendent I Was Glad and Blest Pair of Sirens to Vierne's magnificent Messe Solennelle, written for the spectacular surroundings of Notre Dame. The ancient Gregorian chant Ave maris stella meets Judith Weir's vivid reimagining and Anna Thorvaldsdottir's Heyr þú oss himnum á offers an otherworldly moment of contemplation. We're delighted to include music with strong Yorkshire connections – motets recently written by Daniel Justin and Anthony Gray – and we're joined by the brilliant organist William Campbell, Assistant Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral, for this programme.

Come and see what happens when you mix Bradford’s textile heritage with a vibrant creative community to produce a large-scale art installation, highlighting climate change trends in Yorkshire. Almost 3.5 million stitches have been knitted by volunteers into a 15 metre long warming stripe display that charts our changing temperature from the 1850s to present. This is a unique piece that inspires and empowers us all to take climate action.
There will be an official launch on Saturday 5th July. Please book your free place via https://bradfordcathedral.churchsuite.com/events/x20wgq1t
Knit the Stripes is brought to you by Craft for Climate. Launched in 2024, Craft for Climate is connecting people through craft and climate action. All are welcome to the Sunday Eucharist, our focal act of worship for the Cathedral. In this service, we gather together in praise and prayer, we listen to the scriptures, and we share bread and wine together as Jesus commanded his disciples to do.
The liturgy follows the pattern of Common Worship and with elements of the service sung by the Cathedral Choir. The service is also live-streamed via the cathedral's YouTube channel and Facebook page.
Please view or download the Weekly News Sheet from our website (when available).
This week we welcome our latest visiting choir, the Hope Street Consort.
The Hope Street Consort is a Liverpool-based vocal ensemble, formed in October 2023, made up of musicians who sing in the choirs of both of the city's cathedrals. Known for their flexibility in repertoire and clean sound, the consort has quickly gained recognition, earning a special commendation for their performance at their first competition, placing second at the Andrew Downes Performance Prize.
The group regularly performs recitals across the North of England and is scheduled to appear at the Prescot Festival in 2025, alongside other exciting engagements. The Hope Street Consort brings a fresh, dynamic sound to the Liverpool music scene.
Last year, they visited Bradford Cathedral, which was a great success. The consort are looking forward to returning as a visiting choir this summer, singing both Eucharist and Evensong on Sunday 17th August.
All are welcome to join us for Choral Evensong, a choral setting of Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer (1662), sung by the Cathedral Choir during term time. Choral Evensong on a Sunday also includes a brief sermon.
For further details concerning the music, please refer to the music list which may be found on the music page of the cathedral's website.

Classical pianist, Mauro Bertolino, comes to Bradford Cathedral all the way from Turin. Be enthralled as Mauro takes us on musical journey.
Mauro, born in Turin, obtained his diploma in piano at the G Verdi Conservatory and then went on to further study in Madrid, Saint Petersburg and London with Francois Joel Thollier, Michael Pletnev and Jacques Loussier. He regularly collaborates with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra and participates in many tours in Europe, America and Asia, where he plays under the direction of important conductors like Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti and Laurin Maazel.
He has written soundtracks for TV and performed in Italy's major theatres and across the globe. He is currently working on a new album including re-imaginings of the great classics. His main shows are "Forbidden Colours", a musical voyage that explores worlds that live beyond space and time and "Piano Fantasy", another showcase of Mauro's skill and virtuosity. It is from these two shows that Mauro will delight the audience at the Cathedral.
The bar will be open and you can delight in simply giving yourself up to Mauro's undeniable skill. He's a gentle giant and will guide us through his own impressive renditions of the very best of the piano classics and more. Tissues will be provided . . .
