On May 8th, 1994, Bradford Cathedral hosted its first service of ordination of women to the priesthood. 30 years on, this service will celebrate the contribution of women to the life of the church.

The preacher will be the Rt Revd Anna Eltringham, Bishop of Ripon. The Revd Canon Dr Sue Penfold, one of those ordained in Bradford in 1994, will preside at the Eucharist. Other participants will include the Revd Canon Cathy Milford, former Moderator of the Movement for the Ordination of Women, and the Revd Canon Rachel Firth, Chair of the House of Clergy for the Northern Convocation.

Following the service, those attending are invited to share lunch together. Please bring your own lunch. Drinks will be provided.

Bradford Cathedral

This, the third church on the site, is over 500 years old, with twentieth century additions. Bradford's most ancient place of worship is friendly, peaceful and fascinating, with many special features.
