You may have missed Milica’s call to make bunting to welcome our new Vicar in September. The aim is to complete this so we can decorate the church for Jaimee’s licencing on the 25th Sept.In the photo you can find some examples of how we might individually be able to contribute.Milica will provide the white triangle (Made from old sheets) but needs you to take one or more triangles and decorate it. You could decorate it to represent an organisation you are part of, a role you have at church, or just because it is something you feel able to do.You could use, paints and crayons; you could sew on buttons or ribbons; you could decorate with flowers or emblems, with stencils or fabric, with biblical stories or something that represents you.If you don’t already have a blank piece of bunting let me or Milica know and or come to church on Sunday when we can hopefully equip you.We hope that you will feel able to take part.Susan G & Milica R
The Service of Collation and Induction of Revd. Jaimee Summers, our new Vicar, will be on Monday 25th September at 7.30pm.This will be led by Bishop Rosemarie and our Archdeacon Moira. There will be food and drink in the hall after the service.
Hot in the hall, hot outside, hot for the plants, hot for the Bean Bag Bonanza. It looked easy, three practice bean bags and then the pressure mounted for the three that counted.30+ points won a prize, the points were:Brownie 1 - 75Ken - 75Danae - 75Mr S - 50Guides 1&2 - 50Susan - 50Noel - 50Cookie - 50 (eventually)JW - 50Mr D - 30Daniel - 25Dan - 20In contrast, the church was cool, the organ played and the bells rang. The refreshments were popular, the cakes spectacular and the cream teas mouthwatering. The high point for me, the (rather shy, no pictures) human fruit machine, which behaved like all the others and I won nothing :)Well done to all those who helped prepare, helped run, helped put away and were patrons to the event.HOT OFF THE PRESS: When all contributions are gathered in, looks like over £700 will have been raised.
