The Church of St John the Evangelist in Caterham Valley, is looking ‘Happy & Glorious’ in the bright sunshine; ready for the Coronation celebrations taking place at the weekend. Thank you to all the volunteers who put up the netting around the arch and the flowers in the the church grounds. Do come along and have a look.
It seemed like any other communion service, but this one was different. After over 2 decades service to the parish of Caterham, Father Jerry was taking his last service.

The differences started at the end of the service, with in church presentations from Junior Church and the Congregation.

Celebrations then switched to the church hall, with a magnificent cake, live bouzouki music, a very filling lunch, presents and much love and appreciation for Father Jerry and Mother Anne-Marie.

A 20 minute video of the days events is available to view.
On a cold and overcast Saturday, St John's Church Hall was enhanced by bright lights and colourful decorations. A brisk start first thing in the morning continued for much of the fair. Mrs E jammed them in, Gifts and Toys weren't playing around and the Christmas Roll, and Chocolate tombola had a good turnover. Things were a bit chancy at the Raffle, but Father Jerry was able to Celebrations a win. We're very grateful to all those who came, spent their time and money with us, and lunched. The organisers also want to say a big thank you for all the hard work involved in setting up for the fair, running stalls and clearing up afterwards. Great team work and very enjoyable. Overall, so far, £822 has been raised as a result of everyone's contributions.
