Nine gathered in the tower and joined in at 6:30pm on May 8th when bands across the nation sounded together. A celebratory drink after half an hour of ringing seemed appropriate on a celebratory day.
The VE Day netting has gone up around the arch of St John’s and the red, white and blue flowers have been placed around the churchyard in readiness for the National celebrations on 8th May. We are indebted to our Steeple Keeper, Ken, who looks after our bells, and the rest of the team for hanging the netting around the porch.
