We are delighted to announce that, under certain restrictions, St Chad’s will be re-opening for public worship from Sunday, 19th July. Services will run for a maximum of 45 minutes and will include prayers, reading, and a talk, but there will be no communion, singing, or refreshments. A maximum of 30 people, including clergy and staff members, will be allowed in the building at any one time, and entrance and exit will be through separate doors. Please note that strict social distancing must be observed, and face masks are encouraged. We should have some available.
Because of the strict rules regarding numbers, we will be running several shortened services on Sundays and places will need to be booked. To book your place, please go to this link, where you will find an easy-to-follow booking form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEI1wdi5C6eMWwe5o9z6OiWzTqxboTlO9hXvlfXyaNeNPH5w/viewform. Alternatively, phone the church office and speak to Pauline or Sarah and we will book you in.
Please note, the deadline for booking is Wednesday 15th July. By this time we will know exactly how many services we need to run and what times they will be.
We understand that this may seem a very strange way to come to church, but we must follow government legislation. As such, anyone turning up at church who has not booked a place will be asked to wait outside until 5 minutes after the service has started, and if numbers permit, will then be admitted.
We will continue to provide our weekly service through our website and Facebook page. Martin will also continue his blogs and updates. Our Saturday on-line Junior Church service will also continue but it would help if you could let us know if you would like to bring your children to the Sunday services.
We are all looking forward to the time when we are allowed to worship together again, but until then we will provide our services by any means permitted, always working within the Lockdown Law and with people’s welfare, health and safety our main concern.
