St Edmund's Centre comprises two halls and a committee room - the Ryan Hall, the Blake Hall, and the Richmond Room. Each of these is available for hire for parties, fund-raising functions, and social events.
Kitchen facilities are available, but only for the preparation and serving of food only - and not for cooking. Currently, there are no spare storage provision.
Alcohol may be served and consumed on site, however the buildings are not licensed for the sale of alcohol. The halls may not be hired for public musical entertainment unless relevant licences are obtained.
Part of the historic townscape of South Chingford , the centre provides a clean and affordable space for community groups and local residents, with up-to-date facilities.
The Church building itself is available for hire for concerts/recitals, exhibitions/pop-up galleries, or talks/lectures. This depends on the details of the event and whether it is felt hire of the church would be appropriate. Please email to discuss this option.HOW TO HIRE:
To book either hall or the Richmond Room, please contact Christine on (020) 8523 7548 or email us on [email protected]uk. We aim to return your call within three working days. The minimum hire is one hour; above that, you may hire in multiples of whole hours, half hours, or quarter hours.
Saturdays - One-off events only - no regular bookings taken
Sundays - Restrictions apply; generally the halls are not hired out on Sundays
The halls are not hired on Good Friday, Easter Eve, and Christmas Day. Usually, the whole complex is closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day inclusive. All events must finish by 11 p.m. when music and entertainment must cease.

The centre is located on the junction of Chingford Mount Road (A112) and Larkswood Road, south of the Chingford Mount crossroads (A112/A1009).

Toilet facilities serve the whole complex. These comprise (1) one unisex wheelchair-accessible toilet with baby-changing facilities, (2) one men's WC with urinal, and (3) three women's WCs. (Both halls may only be hired at the same time if the total number of people attending fall within guidelines for the provision of sanitary facilities.) On this basis, we cannot accommodate more than 140 people at the same time.
* If your event is a meeting, and requires rows or blocks of seating, you must make provision for gangways not less than 1.05m wide, and not more than 14 seats in a row with a gangway each end OR not more than 7 seats in a row with a gangway at one end.
