About Us

During the current restrictions, some of normal activities have been suspended and our worship pattern is changed. Full details are on the main Church website.

St Barnabas, Downham is a friendly, welcoming church, open to all. We are part of the Catford (Southend) and Downham Team ministry.

The main Sunday Service is a Sung Eucharist at 9.30 a.m. The first Sunday of the month is usually an All-Age Eucharist and Junior Church for children aged 4 - 11 years old meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month during school term times.

The Church is usually open on Saturday mornings between 9.30 a.m - 11.30 a.m. for enquiries regarding banns, weddings, baptisms, etc or for the opportunity to spend time in the quiet. There is a short service at 12 Noon followed by a bring and share lunch - all are welcome.
