Funerals

Funerals at All Saints Church, Cressing

Remembering a life, giving thanks for love, and finding hope in the midst of loss.

When someone we love dies, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Alongside the sadness and sense of loss, there are practical arrangements to make and decisions to face, often at a time when everything feels overwhelming.

At All Saints Cressing, we understand how important it is to say goodbye in a way that feels personal, meaningful and full of love. We are here to offer kindness, compassion and support, wherever you are on your journey through grief.

A place of remembrance and hope

For generations, All Saints has been a place where people have gathered to mark life's most important moments. Within its walls, families have celebrated, prayed, given thanks and said farewell to those they love.

Every person has their own story, and every life deserves to be remembered with dignity, tenderness and gratitude.

Our clergy will work with you and your funeral director to create a service that reflects the person you are remembering. There is room for favourite music, meaningful readings, treasured memories, tears and even laughter. Because a funeral is not simply about marking a death; it is also about honouring a life and the love that continues beyond it.

At the heart of a Christian funeral is the promise of hope: that death does not have the final word, and that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

How we can help

Our clergy are available to conduct funeral services at All Saints Church, at a crematorium or at the graveside.

Your funeral director will usually contact us to make the initial arrangements. We will then spend time with you, listening to your memories and helping you plan a service that feels right for your loved one and your family.

You do not need to be a regular churchgoer or have all the answers about faith. Whether the church has always been part of your family's life, or you are turning to it for the first time, you will find a warm and compassionate welcome.

Here for you, beyond the funeral

Grief is not something we simply get over, and there is no right or wrong way to experience it.

Our hope is that, through the funeral service and the care of our church community, you will find some comfort in knowing that your loved one's life mattered, that the love you shared remains precious, and that you do not have to face the journey of grief alone.
