St Matthew's has a vision to be a place out of which the love of Christ would be taken into the community and a place into which people would come and discover that same love.
As a church - the Body of Christ - our aim is to be a people who love God and love each other, moved by the heart of God to bring his wholeness into the community.
We want to make a difference in this community for God.
The parish of West Ham, Saint Matthew is committed to the
safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow
the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish
Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs (See our website for details). The Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages
contain vital links and information including contacts for the
Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are
concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk
of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns
about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your
local authority Children or Adults Services.
