New Adult Christians baptised at StB

At Easter Emma Sawyer was baptised at St Barnabas in the main Sunday Service. Emma works in parliament and lives in the parish. She was supported by her partner Matt, who was baptised in Louisiana as a baby. Emma and Matt have been coming to church for a few years.

Two weeks after Easter another baptism was held in the main service. The baptismal candidate was Shelley who works as a teacher. She was supported by her partner Nilesh. Shelley has been a Christian for her entire life, ever since learning to pray as a child.

The vicar, Revd Steve Cook, hopes that Emma, Shelley, Matt and and another candidate Makula will be baptised later in the year, probably at a service at Southwark Cathedral. The vicar commented on these good news items by quoting a line from the service of baptism "the Lord is adding to our number those whom he is calling".
