Every year about a week before Christmas we welcome the children, staff and parents of Henwick Junior School to St Barnabas for their school worship service at Christmas. The service is written by the school with lots of participation by the children. Usually we see a capacity crowd of around 500 people present for this service.

This is our annual parish Carol Service held the Sunday before Christmas each year in the evening. This year one of the church members is serving as a nurse on the Mercy Ship called MV Global Mercy which is currently moored in Freetown Sierra Leone. Our carol service will be in partnership with Mercy Ships and we hope to share the message of hope and healing that lies at the heart of the Christian faith and of the Mercy Ship movement.

This is our annual service of Midnight Mass which we celebrate late on Christmas Eve. The idea is that the consecration of the Holy Communion occurs as Christmas Day begins following the reading of the gospel of the incarnation of Jesus and the preaching of a sermon. Some years this is followed by a vicar's invitation party in the Lacey Room.

This service is held on the morning of Christmas Day and it is a family friendly celebration of the Holy Communion. It is based on a simple liturgy and Common Worship. We sing carols and some modern songs led by a singer. It lasts around sixty minutes, so that people can go home and enjoy lunch as a family.
