Whether you’re new to the area, returning to church, or simply curious about faith, you are very welcome at St Barnabas. We’re a friendly Church of England community in Hadleigh, and we’d love you to feel at home with us.

Sunday service

9.30am Holy Communion or Morning Worship (CW) — our main service, about an hour. Some weeks we share Communion; other weeks we focus on worship, prayer and Bible teaching. Every service finishes with tea, coffee and biscuits, and plenty of time to chat.

Children are very welcome

We love having children at our services. If your child makes a noise, or runs up and down the aisles, we honestly do not mind. Please do not feel you have to sit at the back, or take them out, or apologise. Children belong here just as they are, and the sound of them is a good sound in a church.

Midweek

Tuesday 10.30am – 12 noon, Kettle’s On — pop in for free tea and coffee. An easy-going time to meet people and have a proper chat.

Thursday 10.30am Holy Communion (CW) — a gentle, reflective service with space to pray, hear God’s word and share Communion together. Tea and coffee afterwards.

Messy Church — second Monday of the month, 4.00–6.00pm. A relaxed, all-age way of being church, with crafts and hands-on activities, a short time of celebration and worship, and food shared together.

CW is Common Worship, the Church of England’s modern service book, in today’s English.

Holy Communion

Gluten-free wafers and a non-alcoholic alternative to wine are available at every Communion; you only need to ask. All are welcome, whether to receive or to come for a blessing.
