MOOD PORTRAITS BY PHILIP GROOM

I am delighted to be exhibiting my paintings at St. Augustine's during this period of Lent.

The larger ones were painted last year, during the period I was diagnosed and treated for cancer, (rather brilliantly at Guy's). They convey different moods, and I have called them Mood Portraits. They arrived fairly spontaneously. The smaller paintings come from a series I made some time ago for a Good Friday meditation, The Way of The Cross.

It is my earnest hope that you find something of interest somewhere in them.

This is held on the first and second Sundays of each month. We meet in the Parish Room while the service is in progress and the children join the service for the last part.
The Sunday School welcomes children and young people who are at least 5 years old. A child aged 3 or 4 years may be admitted if accompanied by his/her parent or adult carer, or by an older brother or sister who can look after him/her. Parents and carers of all attendees are welcome to sit in on any Sunday School session, and may be asked to do so should the need arise.

All are most welcome to come to this service.

A time to share coffee and tea and refreshments with an opportunity to donate to the homeless. The church has a collecting box for the Lewisham Foodbank and donations can be made when the Café is open. There is often an Art Exhibition in the Parish Room in which the Café is held.

There will be a series of three Bible studies for those who wish to explore Christian faith. We will study the New Testament in particular the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. No pre-booking is required. The Café opens at 10am, please join us from 10.30am. The final session will be on March 28th.

Music and Readings for Passiontide; a reflective service led by the choir

All are most welcome to join us for this service. Refreshments are provided after the service. We process into the church having gathered at the bottom of the path.

This service will include time for silent prayer afterwards as we remember our Lord’s Last Supper.

All are most welcome to join us for this service as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We commence the service at the top of One Tree Hill. Breakfast will be provided after the service.

This Prayer and Spirituality Day will be led by Revd Sue Charles TSSF. Please provide a bring and share lunch. The day will finish with a short service in the Lady Chapel starting at 2.00pm. All are most welcome to join.
